cable ties, sexy or not?

I may have not hit my 40 km target but still donated my set out money, as people should not suffer for my lack of ability to ride a distance.

My ride today was not my 40 km wishful thinking ride, yet it's always good to aim high. I don't like to think of not hitting a target as failing I like to make it something to aim for next time.
I rode 17.36 km in 59:51 mins, I wish to increase my speed, the area I was riding around was very hilly, which lead for an interesting ride.

Below are the statistics of the ride:
Ride details
Speed for each km of ride

On my ride today a nice old man rode up to me started chatting his heart out about river systems etc, he had those cable ties, which people put on their helmets to keep away birds. I will now google and find an image:
The man looked oddly similar to this guy. If you can all stop adding this to your private porn collections and concentrate we can move on.

I see there are pros and cons to the cable ties
Pro: birds cannot eat your eye balls
Con: you look mega lame
Pro: an accident will be avoided due to a bird surprising you
Con: you look mega lame

The debate is still up in the air in my books, I personally will not convert to putting them on my helmet for another 40 years, yet I will not judge people who wear them as eye balls are important, I'd much rather be rocking a pair of sunnies though, this model on the left is rocking both.
